On this page, as well as an overview of the show, we have published the different elements that can surround any individual episode, the publishing ecosystem.
The episode we have chosen was recorded live in the studio at Hythe with Dani Needham, a Personal Trainer, Author, Blogger and Gym Manager of a Kent Based Gym.
We have a mixture of guests live in the show, like Dani, and others as phone-in guests when obviously our opportunity for live and interactive supporting media is much less. However, having phone guests means we can broadcast with international guests.
In the studio the usual team is me, Sian Murphy the host and founder, co-host Laura Burton-Lawrence and the Content and Production Manager Kelly Culver.

Our Audio Visual Approach

There are two main tenets to our approach. Firstly, we are always considering our brand across all platforms and that includes website headers, social media profiles as well as the quotes, images, photos and videos we create to post on the website, social media and podcasting platforms.
It matters to us that anyone can do what we do. Because our editing and production tools are free or very low cost, and we don’t employ anyone with special skills, this means that any one of our listeners can do what we do and be successful as they are starting out. Even though the live show is produced in a professional studio, this could be recreated for free using platforms such as Spreaker.

The recorded show is edited to remove any music which could infringe copyright once the show is distributed beyond the Channel Radio platform. The first editing is uploaded to the broadcasting platform Spreaker and the embed code which is generated is then used to embed the edited show into our website, along with the player.
We do it this way because the embedded player looks better and is easier for visitors to use than most WordPress options.
Each episode is also published on iTunes, Soundcloud, Tunein and a variety of other broadcasting production and online distribution platforms.

As well as photo’s during the show, we also seek out images to support publication and which fit in with the overall theme of the show. The overall theme is inspirational and uplifting.

One of Dani’s tips during her visit to the studio related to taking 10 minutes each day to create a healthy lunch and so one of the images we picked to support this publication is foodie based.

We are very active on Twitter before during and after the show. Imagery and media is a key to success on Twitter and we use video, studio photos alongside externally sourced images to generate interest. There is always an eye to maintaining brand integrity across Twitter and all platforms we publish on.

After the show, and when we have a guest in the studio, we usually do an ‘off the cuff’ video when we ask our guest some quick-fire questions, such as ‘What’s your top tip for…..?” and our favourite, “What do you know now that you wish you had known when you started out?”
Usually, we have a person to control the camera, in this example, however, we did it as a video selfie. So, it may not be the most professional production ever, but it’s from the heart.

The book is then added to the Amazon widget which makes it easy for visitors to find and buy, as well as potentially generating a small income for the show.
